Program Note

[ Posted Wednesday, December 24th, 2014 – 17:41 UTC ]

Coincidentally enough, the day that North Korea was hacked and the day I wrote about cyberattacks, this site was hacked.

I've restored it, for now, but there may be some heavy-duty site maintenance in the coming days. In any case, thanks to everyone for their continued patience, and we're certainly sorry this happened. If you experience problems in the next week or so, please let me know.

    UPDATE

    LizM -

It's safe enough, for now. The only info this site stores is your email and your CW.com login and password. The only damage anyone could possibly do with this information is (1) log in to CW.com as you, and post a fake comment, or (2) add your email to a spam list somewhere, so you get more spam to filter.

That's it. The PayPal transactions are COMPLETELY separate and ALL financial info (CC number, physical address, etc) is stored EXCLUSIVELY on their servers.

So rest easy -- donations were not affected AT ALL. PayPal would have to get hacked for that to happen, and if that does happen, you'll hear about it elsewhere, I'd bet.

However, the site is not back to 100%. It has some problems still, and in the upcoming days and weeks it looks like I'm going to have to go through upgrading Wordpress again. This could take some time and it could cause future problems, but at the least it'll mean the security of the site will be upgraded as well. So look for future bulletins, in the next few weeks. And, as always, I apologize for all the hassle (and it will be a BIG hassle on my end... grrr...)

Anyway, please report any new problems you see on the site in the next week or so. Like I said, it's not completely working at 100%, so I'd like to identify everything that's broken, and you can help.

I use the same password here that I use to access The Football and launch nuclear missiles..

I guess I better change that, eh?? :D

    ON a completely unrelated note...

We watched THE INTERVIEW last night..

On the whole, it didn't TOTALLY suck... It had a few laughs, but was mostly silly... Franco was over the top and, ironically enough, Rogen was more subdued.

I give it a 5 out of 10 stars.... Definitely not worth the price of theater admission, but mindless entertainment if you don't have to pay for it.. :D

It was classy of Obama to call the couple, congratulate them and apologize for causing problems with their wedding..

He handled it well? That's good -- when I saw the headline earlier today, I cringed so bad ("what a PR disaster!") that I couldn't even bring myself to read the article. Good to know it ended OK.

Yea, those who irrationally hate Obama will point to his golf screwing up everyday American's lives.. And there is some truth to that...

But it WAS classy the way he handled it..

About the only thing he could have done better was to forgo his golf game and let the couple "play thru" so to speak...

But he deserves points for at least acting like a human being and being humble about it..
