Program Note

[ Posted Monday, April 1st, 2019 – 17:52 UTC ]

Sorry, no April Fool's Day column this year (here's one from years past, if you're disappointed...). I'm entering my third straight week of fighting the flu, so there was no way I could manage to be witty in any way. It's enough of a challenge just to type. I did write about half of a column, but then had to collapse for a few hours from the effort it took. I promise I'll do my best to finish this column tomorrow and get it posted. For now, though, it's time for more cough syrup and back to bed....

Hispanics Rally to Trump, Boosting His 2020 Chances

Get ready for the anti-Trump “resistance” to go truly loco, because new polling data indicates Hispanic support for the president is swelling, a trend that could seal his 2020 re-election victory.

When I helped lead the Trump Hispanic Advisory Council in 2016, our effort was widely derided by skeptics certain that the narrative of Trump as anti-Latino would doom his candidacy, particularly in heavily Hispanic states like Florida. But that November, Hispanics saw through the media smears and Trump massively outperformed dour expectations, actually surpassing Mitt Romney’s 2012 percentage among Latino voters.

Since then, prospects have only improved – most importantly for the overall well-being of America’s Hispanic citizens, but also for the political prognosis of President Trump. So much good news erupted last week for the president with the conclusion of the Mueller inquiry that stunning new polling data was largely glossed over. McLaughlin & Associates revealed that Hispanic approval for Trump in March jumped to 50%. This number matched the January Marist/NPR/PBS survey that shocked cynics with its own 50% approval finding. Even if those polls are too aggressive, February’s Morning Consult/Politico poll showed Trump’s Hispanic approval vaulting to a still-impressive 45%.

No time to get into the 2020 field, but my guess is that Trump can be beat by a sandwich and a glass of milk.

yea, but YOU also claimed that Trump was going to go down for Russia Collusion..

So, let's face the facts my friend..

You don't have ANY credibility when predicting things President Trump...

You have **ALWAYS** been wrong about President Trump...

    ALWAYS... Since Day One...

What's it going to take for you to realize that your Trump/America hate blinds you to facts and reality..

All you have is your Matrix...

Yeah, he still could: we haven't seen the Mueller Report yet. Even if we don't ever see it, the damage is done.

What?! Did you think we'd take Barr's word for what's in the report? Do we look stupid to you?

Yes, you have.. You just can't admit it..

No, not stupid.. Just dangerously delusional..

Do you HONESTLY think that Mueller The Honorable... The Hero of the Trump/America haters would stand silent if Barr mis-characterized Mueller's report??

    If you do??

Then yea... You look pretty stoopid..

    Yep. He's a republican, don't forget. *sigh*

We'll just haveta do it the old-fashioned way: through subpoenas.

Yes, you have [seen the report].. You just can't admit it..

Ah, that's where we've gotcha. You know that that wouldn't be enough for you, so what makes you think that it's enough for us? It may be politically expedient to say, 'nothing to see here', but realistically, it doesn't hold water.

    Gotta see it.

And yet, ya'all have been singing his praises for the last 2+ years..

    NOW..

NOW that he says what you don't want to hear... NOW he's just a Republican..

Do you honestly comprehend how hypocritical you sound???

As I said.. I encourage ya'all to keep picking at the Russia Collusion bullshit..

NOTHING will guarantee a Trump re-election more than Dumbocrats far and wide trying to re-litigate the 2016 POTUS election...

Ya'all are yer own worst enemies and you can't even see it...

Right back at'cha. The hypocrisy coming from the other side is reaching an early pitch, as the effort to 'sell' the Barr report as determinative evaporates.

Obviously, the 'sell' didn't take. No one was fooled. Now fess up and lets get underway. That's the only way forward. Unless you WANT a big fight, which brings this into the election. Really?

    Is that in Trump's interest?

There won't be any big fight...

Mueller and Barr are working together on the redactions to release the full report..

Ya'all have been bubbling over for the last 2+ year on the "honor" and "integrity" of Robert Mueller..

Are you NOW saying that you don't trust Mueller?? After spewing and gushing for over 2 years how awesome and wonderful he is..

    NOW you don't trust him??

Do you see what a bad position you have put yourself in???

Finally, let me ask you one question in all sincerity..

Since you have been WRONG about everything President Trump for the last 3 years..

Why should I believe anything you say??
