Utah Democrats To Try A Political Experiment
Utah Democrats have just announced they're going to try an experiment. Instead of running a Democratic candidate in the upcoming Senate race, they are instead throwing their weight behind an Independent candidate, Evan McMullin. By doing so, they hope to boost his chances over the incumbent Republican Mike Lee. This is an experiment, so there's no guarantee it'll work -- but it undoubtedly will give McMullin a much better chance at beating Lee, so it will be very interesting to see play out.
America has two dominant political parties with a smattering of much smaller third parties. So when one of the big ones decides to sit out an important race, it is indeed noteworthy. Utah hasn't sent a Democrat to the Senate in over half a century though, so it's not like the Democrats had any real viable shot of dethroning Lee. But in a three-way race, they would probably have siphoned off enough votes to make it impossible for any third-party candidate to win.
McMullin ran as an Independent in the 2016 presidential race, mostly to give Republican voters in Utah a more palatable choice than having to vote for Donald Trump. He pulled in an impressive 21.5 percent of the vote in the state, but Trump still won the state with 45.5 percent. Hillary Clinton got 27.5 percent, meaning that 49 percent of the vote went for either the Democrat or McMullin. McMullin was either on the ballot or a write-in candidate in many other states, but other than Idaho (6.7 percent), he failed to top even two percent of the vote anywhere. Obviously, he was a "favorite son" candidate in Utah itself, and nothing more.
Of course, nobody knows how he'll do this time around. But Utah does have a history of electing strong conservatives to the Senate who are still rational (see: Mitt Romney) and have not gone down the rabbit hole of conspiracy theories. Mike Lee, on the other hand, started as a Tea Partier and has now gone full MAGA. So this will be a race between the Trump wing of the Republican Party and what's left of the old establishment Republicans.
Utah Democrats made a tough choice by backing McMullin, since he will never be a Democrat or a progressive. If elected, he will doubtlessly caucus with the Republicans and vote for Mitch McConnell for leader. Democrats are completely throwing in the towel and conceding before the race even begins.
But that seems to be the smart play for them, here. There is virtually no chance of a Democratic candidate winning this race, even with a strong third-party candidate in the mix. If the electorate isn't even 30 percent Democrats, then the other two candidates could split the rest of the vote, and one of them would still be likely to win. The only thing a Democratic candidate could do would be to be a spoiler for one or the other of the conservative candidates.
So they decided not to do that. Instead, they'll try to throw their weight behind McMullin in the hopes enough Republican voters are sick and tired of Lee's antics. This actually has a chance of working, although it is far too soon to tell how good a chance it'll be (but it will be interesting to see any new polling emerge).
When McMullin heard the news that the Democratic Party was getting behind him, he laid out the case for voting for him rather than Lee. It is a pro-democracy statement more than a partisan one:
We know that Sen. Mike Lee was quite involved in the effort to overturn our democracy. We have got to take a stand as Utahns. I don’t care if you're a Democrat or an Independent or a Republican or a member of the United Utah Party: This is a line that cannot be crossed. Our right to hold our leaders accountable and to vote for or against them and have a peaceful transition of power is essential for liberty and justice in America. We cannot compromise on that, and we must all be united to defend it.
The United Utah Party, described by the Deseret News as "centrist," will also be backing McMullin.
Not all Utah Democrats were thrilled with the decision. The vote to back McMullin rather than a candidate of their own was only 57-43 percent. A strong majority, but with a healthy amount of dissent. Not putting any candidate on the ballot didn't sit well with everyone, to put it mildly.
But it is the only viable chance to defeat a senator who (as was recently revealed) was openly plotting to overturn the free and fair results of a presidential election. Which doesn't exactly sit right with all Republican voters in the state.
Defeating Lee won't flip the seat to become Democratic, or progressive, or even particularly centrist. McMullin is a pretty staunch dyed-in-the-wool conservative. But he's a conservative who would actually believe and follow his oath of office to the United States Constitution -- which is far better than the alternative.
This sort of political machination might not be possible to be repeated elsewhere, but in at least one or two places perhaps it should. There are other red states where Democrats don't have a snowball's chance of winning that could see a three-way race between a sane Republican, a MAGA devotee, and a Democrat who has no chance of winning. Liz Cheney's case in Wyoming immediately springs to mind. Lisa Murkowski in Alaska also could be a possibility, depending on the outcome of both their primaries.
Of course, if I were a Utah Democrat, I would be disappointed in the fact that there will be no Democratic candidate on the Senate ballot for me to vote for. It seems more than a little disenfranchising. But I would understand that extraordinary times sometimes call for extraordinary actions. So whether I had to hold my nose or not to vote for a man who didn't share any of my political beliefs at all, I would indeed vote for him. Because he at least would share my faith in the American democratic system, and at least he would respect the results of an election and support the peaceful transfer of power above all else.
Which would be far better than the other alternative on the ballot.

An interesting piece. It reminded me strongly of a book I just finished, 'How Democracies Die', by Levitsky and Ziblatt (2019). The authors review how the biggest threat to democracies worldwide today is from 'populist' autocrats who are elected to office and then proceed to hijack the democratic process by incremental steps to restrict the vote and ensure a one-party domination, usually in the name of "protecting freedom", etc.
L & Z are not really very strong on recommending how democratic citizens can combat these men and their parties, but one of their ideas is that parties should make alliances with politically opposed parties that are also in favor of free elections, entirely on the basis of supporting democracy rather than autocracy. They offer some examples from history, in 1930s Europe and in 1970s Latin America; their suggestiong that today's Democrats do the same with the non-Trump Republicans rings kind of hollow because there are so few actual non-Trump Republicans.
But your story today of Utah's Democrats going with a conservative Independent who believes in democracy is exactly what they were talking about. It's not easy - many in the parties involved don't like it, giving aid and comfort to the enemy as it were. But that's the point - Independents and old-line non-Trump Republicans are not the 'enemy' anymore, compared to the Trumpists and their base of quasi-fascist white supremacists and autocrats, who are working around the clock right now to ensure that the 2024 presidential election will only have one acceptable outcome, no matter how the nation actually votes.
Here's Beau's opinion on Elon Musk'sTwitter takeover. (starts 2:11).
I paraphrase: Musk's lawyers will lay down in front of his Tesla to keep him from turning Twitter into a right-wing friendly no holds barred dystopia. One Insurrection or public health fiasco (think shooting bleach, Michale) later and billions fly out the door. Go down in history out the door, yo. Even right-wing sites are monitored so...ain't gonna happen.
Hey, Michale. Whaddaya you know about Texas's Operation Lone Star?

Democrat's choice here isn't that bad if you look at the bigger picture.
To not ally with pro-democracy Repugs in just this kinda of situation increases the chances that Dems who own the demographic future in Murica and later on, Utah? will postpone that ascendency.

Michale, I seem to recall you claiming Putin wouldn't have invaded if Trump had won a second term.
Here's what I think.
IMO we suffered through 12 years of Foreign Policy incompetence.
Barack Red Line in the Desert Obama didn't have the balls to stand up to anyone. While he read all of the intelligence material, he never spoke with any of his intel people and the resulting lack of back and forth left him in his own bubble.
Trump apparently didn't care to read anything whatsoever and was reportedly sometimes simply swayed by whomever he spoke with last. Especially if they're Mar-a-Lago whales. Putin helped elect Trump and Trump returned the solid by doing far more to weaken NATO than anything Putin could have done himself.
Putin saw Joe wasn't going to do the same so he jumped while he still had the chance. Which was arguably back in 2014.
See you tomorrow, Don.

Does it matter WHY Putin wouldn't have invaded under President Trump??
I mean, if it saves all those Ukrainian lives and Ukraine culture, do you REALLY care *WHY*???
Since we seem to agree that, had President Trump been re-elected in the FAIR election that 2020 SHOULD have been, Putin would not have invaded Ukraine, isn't that a reason alone??
Put another way... If you had the foresight, would you have voted for President Trump to save Ukraine???
Or does your hate for President Trump exceed your love for your homeland??

But Utah does have a history of electing strong conservatives to the Senate who are still rational (see: Mitt Romney) and have not gone down the rabbit hole of conspiracy theories.
Quite a turnaround of opinion of Romney between 2012 and now, eh? :^/

What conflict? You name checked me multiple times and in multiple posts and kept giving me an inordinate amount of credit for something I did not do, and now you and Elizabeth Miller are going to seriously try to form a tag team and label my disagreement with your profuse thanking as somehow some sort of "disrespect" and/or "conflict"?

Why would anyone care about Twitter- it's got the word Twit right there in it's name.
You may not care about Titter and I might not care about Titter..
But Titter's impact on the here and now is inarguable..
If it wasn't for Titter's anti-America bias, we would have President Trump still President... Ukraine wouldn't be being systematically destroyed by Putin.. America would still be energy independent.. Inflation would not be decimating the middle class paychecks.. And so on and so on and so forth...
In other words, if it wasn't for Titter, America would be great...
It's going to be awesome to have Elon running Titter.. :D
Awww carp!!! I guess I didn't learn Kick's lessons very well.. hehehe
Allow me to repost for clarity.. :D
The problem with Odumbo's and Democrats' claims is that they ONLY want to censor "disinformation" from the Right..
Odumbo and Democrats LOVE *THEIR* disinformation..
For Odumbo and the Democrats their definition of "disinformation" is everything they don't like to hear, regardless of it's factual nature..
The here and now is replete with numerous examples that prove this to be fact...
DH,
Liz-
So I took your advice to start small and you say nothing?
Actually, that was my suggestion..
Could you show me where you took that advice?? I always like to give credit where credit is due..
Weigantia Haiku??
Thank you for proving my point in comment 57. :D
How, exactly, did I prove your point.. Please provide specifics..
It was actually suggested by many commenters.
For example???
Of course, you are again pretending that the information you want has not been provided when it was in the next sentence after the sentence you quoted.
If you provided such information, it wouldn't be too hard for you to point to it..
The fact that you ALWAYS seem to fall back to that same old tired lie of "I already posted it" and yet, can NEVER actually point to where you actually posted it would indicate that you never really address ANY of the questions that people put to you..
Why is that ALWAYS the case??
Man up or frak off.
You first.. :D
As I have always said.. Democrats LOVE disinformation and lies... As long as it's THEIR disinformation and THEIR lies...
I have to be honest here and say that what is most appealing about Elon's takeover of Titter is that the Democrats are so hysterically apoplectic about it..
If Democrats are so hysterically against something that's a pretty good indication that it is GOOD for the US and GOOD for patriotic Americans.. :D
DH,
More outright fucking lies.
Any facts to support that claim??
ANY facts at all??
No??
Of course not.. :D
My guess is that it's going to be like when hysterical Democrats claimed they would move out of the US if President Trump won the election..
Of course, we know that President Trump DID win and those morons are still here.. :^/
DH,
You are consistently NOT being honest here.
Yes.. That is your on-going claim..
And yet, you cannot provide a single solitary fact that supports your claim..
But at least you are being consistent.. You have yet to provide ANY facts to support ANY of yer claims.. :D
DH,
And, once again, you fail to provide ANY specifics..
Why is that always the case with you??
You can't expect specifics if you refuse to give specifics.. :D
Have a happy.. :D
In addition to starting small, I also suggest you hire someone to do your PR work..
Because, frankly, you really suck at it..
I'm just sayin'...

Of course there is.. Every time you comment, I learn something new.. Knowledge is always welcome and appreciated..
We agree on something.
Not sure what you mean by "name-checking".. Could you elaborate??
It's nothing sinister or negative, it just means mentioning someone's name (or pseudonym) in a public forum. When it's done multiple times across multiple comment boxes, it can send the impression you're wanting the attention of that person or you wish to elicit a response.
If anyone keeps calling my name repeatedly (name checking), I am likely to answer.
And courtesy is NEVER unwelcome..
Yes, but confusing "disagreement" with "disrespect" and calling me out on it is a surefire way to stifle that "muscular debate" the Warden :D claims to want. After I was "named checked" multiple times, I wanted to let you know that I thought it was ridiculous for you to keep thanking me... and posting dedications. I didn't teach you anything, really.
Thanks again for your comments.. They are, as always (now) appreciated.. :D
You are now required to stop thanking me. It's wholly unnecessary. That was the point! :)

By forcing NATO members to actually start pulling their weight and forcing NATO members to meet their NATO obligations with $$$ and troops, President Trump made NATO the force to be reckoned with it is today..
Odumbo's NATO would NEVER have been able to face down Russia in the here and now...
Putin helped elect Trump and Trump returned the solid by doing far more to weaken NATO than anything Putin could have done himself.
Not factually accurate.. You apparently are not up on current events.. John Durham has proven that all the Russia Collusion was nothing but fabrications.. Are you going to watch the Sussmann trial next month???
Musk's lawyers will lay down in front of his Tesla to keep him from turning Twitter into a right-wing friendly no holds barred dystopia.
Of course Musk won't turn Titter into that..
What Musk *WILL* do is prevent hysterical Democrats from censoring FACTS that are unflattering to Democrats...
Like they are doing now.. Which is a fact that is well documented..
You sneaky bastard! I see what you're doing...very subtle...plunging Kick into panicked confusion...you're reverse trolling Kick by killing her with kindness.
You noticed her panic'ed confusion as well, eh?? :D
I can assure you that such is not my intent.. I simply LIKE how Weigantia is running these days and will go beyond my part to make sure it stays this way..
Being kind to Kick does have an added bonus as it makes me feel real good about my part in bringing peace to Weigantia..
Don't ya feel it too?? :D
Feels good, doesn't it my friend.. :D
Kick,
Why are the frothy right-wingnuts all excited about Elon Musk buying Twitter? Donald Trump has already said he won't return to posting there.
That's a very good point.. Thank you for bringing it up as I was looking for an opening to mention it. Thanx so much for doing the heavy lifting for me.. :D
As to President Trump, I was kinda bummed when I heard what he had said as well.. But I don't think he is serious.. President Trump will use any avenue to espouse his awesome ideas..
But then it occurred to me on the way home..
Even if President Trump DOESN'T come back to Titter, simply the fact that President Trump is WELCOME back to Titter will be enough to melt down those Trump/America haters snowflakes..
That will still be fun..
Thank you again for bringing this up.. Yer a mensch... :D
MC
Hey you guys, would you kindly...
SPEAK FUCKING 'MURICAN?
hehehehe Allow me..
Kick had said that I wouldn't believe her but she can't talk about her Europe trip anyways..
I told her of course I would believe her.. What kind of idiot would LIE in a political forum just to score points.. I also told her that having worked military areas in France and Israel and such, I understand the demands of a super secret classified mission et al..
That's it in a nutshell.. :D
John From CT..
Ah, well. Of 114 posts so far, only 5 of them are in response to Chris's column. The rest is a highly-skippable Battle of the Trolls. Maybe things will get better in some time to come.
You keep saying that.. Been months now.. And yet.. :D
'Sides... Things are awesome here in Weigantia.. How could ANYONE possibly complain!??? :D
MC,
Uh, I dunno: #MoscowMitch dicking Merrick Garland for 10 months and turning around and jammming Amy Covid Barrett through in 6 weeks, naybe?
Nope.. Not hypocrisy... Well played brinksmanship.. :D
And I can bet you a million quatloos that NO ONE was more surprised than McConnell that they gambit actually worked!! :D
I mean, com'on.. What are the odds, eh!!
But work it did and now we have an AWESOME 6-3 Conservative SCOTUS..
Happy Days Are Hear Again!! :D
MC,
But you never answered my question..
Would you trade Joe Biden's awful and totally decimating Presidency for a pristine and vibrant Ukraine untouched by the evil machinations of Putin and Russia....
Anyways, getting back to Democrat Butthurt over losing the huge Democrat propaganda outlet that Twitter is...
By "much worse" this Democrat whiner means that Democrats won't be able to censor information that is decimating to the Democrat Party agenda..
No it means FREE SPEECH for everyone, not just Democrat apparatchiks who toe and spew the Democrat Party line..
Blaaa blaaa blaaaa A bunch of baseless and factless accusations.. Then..
Aghast at losing the ability to silence facts and opinions that the Left Wing/Democrat Trump/America haters don't like...
THAT is all the whiners and cry babies are aghast at...
Yes, controlling the megaphone and giving a megaphone to EACH Titter user who wants one..
Instead of the way it is now where only hysterical Left Wingers and Trump/America haters who use it to bully and censor opinions and facts that are contrary to the Democrat Party line...
Face reality, Democrats.. Yer time as the keepers of the gates of Free Speech is at an end in Twitter, soon to be Titter..
And Democrats demise on Titter will go hand in hand with Democrats demise on Capitol Hill.. :D
Then we'll see some REAL action!! :D
Damn, that BlockQuote setup looks awesome!!!
Thanx again, Kick.. Yer a real life-saver.. :D
The palatable and hysterical fear coming from the Left Wingery is truly a sight to behold.. :D
Democrats are becoming unhinged at losing their control of the Public Square...
They are downright apoplectic that they won't be able to control the titter-waves and censor and ban unwanted thoughts and opinions and facts..
I think this is going to be a bigger melt-down than when President Trump wiped the floor with Hillary.. :D
Gotta get me some of the Liberal Tears Beer!! :D
I am actually quite surprised there has been no mention of Democrats losing their biggest propaganda outlet from the Weigantian Administration..
They must be still in shock, eh? :D hehehehe
"If you own all of Twitter or Facebook or what have you, you don’t have to explain yourself, you don’t even have to be transparent, you could secretly ban one party’s candidate or all of its candidates, all of it nominees. Or you could just secretly turn down the reach of their stuff and turn up the reach of something else and the rest of us might not even find about it til after the election."
Ari Melber, MSNBC
Which is EXACTLY what Democrats who control FaceBook and Twitter did...
They banned a candidate and banned facts about the Democrat candidate that would have lost the election for Democrats..
Now that the ability to do that, to silence and censor unflattering FACTS, now that THAT ability is going bye bye, Democrats are in major PANIC MODE.. :D

I agree that most of the comments are not related to this column. Dunno about anyone else but I'm far more likely to stay on topic when I take issue with something in the column or at least think it could be phrased better. Otherwise, I'm yup, he's right. What about you guys?
I think the only trolling going on might be Don Harris flunking English comprehension as always (despite even Michale trying to get the guy to actually engage) and its getting deep end nasty in his frustration.
Michale still does his part to grant me the second half of my daily News and Spews morning function.
He is giving Weigantia the respect of formatting his rants to be far more readable and I plow through as much of them as I can in the spirit of getting a one stop shopping peek at what's going on in the parallel right-wing universe. No one says I have to read them all.
Now having said that, I've NO doubt that Michale and I are thinking the exact same thing...
I dunno...seems to be making the effort...Jury is still out... and no matter what he's still Satan's spawn...
But I'm enjoying this and I'm willing to roll with it.

Either that or the commentary is so wrong, or so obscure it's not even worth commenting on.. :D
Toe-MAY-Toe, Poe-TAA-Toe :D

But I'm enjoying this and I'm willing to roll with it.
Sums things up for me.. :D I can still bring FACTS to the Factless, but I do it in such a way that it's amiable and respectful of other's feelings..
More or less.. :D

I agree that Trump got the pull your bleeping weight thing right. As with confronting China even if American consumers pay the tariffs. Yes...savor it...Trump was right about both these two (2) things.
Was it good for you, too BigBoi?
But fact checking shows NATO spending over ~30 countries rose a whopping $50B, not enough to make any kind of difference in Putin's calculations.
Let's agree to disagree about Trump's other effects on NATO.
[124]
MC,
But you never answered my question..
Would you trade Joe Biden's awful and totally decimating Presidency for a pristine and vibrant Ukraine untouched by the evil machinations of Putin and Russia....
Let me clarify. Biden versus Trump in office had no bearing on Putin's invasion. The invasion was always going to happen. See
MCsplaining Ukraine, later today.
Fair enough..
I think President Trump did a lot more to strengthen NATO than ya'all want to give him credit for.. That is supported by the facts.
But I understand that giving President Trump credit for ANYTHING sticks in ya'all's craw..
The fact that you concede as much as you have is welcome and I am satisfied with that..
Peace out.. :D
[119]
Odumbo's NATO would NEVER have been able to face down Russia in the here and now...
Yeah, but considering that Ukraine is holding its own against Russia all by its lonesome it follows that an additional NATO expenditure of $50B over four Trump years over thirty countries is chump change.
Obama was a pussy and that's why I'm so glad he's not President right now.
Er, regarding the use of Odumbo and Cheetogod do you want to experiment with a cease fire? Or is it simply too satisfying?
I get that you have pride in your homeland, MC..
But I hardly think you can consider that Ukraine has been "holding it's own" against Russia... :D
The US alone has probably sent over 10 billion in money and top o the line military hardware..
Granted, Ukraine has been doing ALL the fighting themselves and they deserve every amount of praise for that.. Personally I wish US Troops were fighting right along side.. THAT is how it SHOULD be.. But Biden is the Coward Of The Country...
But Ukraine is hardly going it alone.. :D
Obama was a pussy and that's why I'm so glad he's not President right now.
Agreed.. Odumbo's lack of any testicular fortitude is directly tied to the mess that Ukraine is in today..
Er, regarding the use of Odumbo and Cheetogod do you want to experiment with a cease fire? Or is it simply too satisfying?
Yea, giving up Odumbo is a bridge too far.. I am hardly in a position to complain about your Cheetogod if I hold onto my Odumbo.. :D
Let me clarify. Biden versus Trump in office had no bearing on Putin's invasion. The invasion was always going to happen.
There are no facts to support that claim..
But I anxiously await you trying to find some.. :D
[131]
Once DH dragged my mother (god rest her soul) into it, he became dead to me..
Yup that's undeniably deep end nasty fucked up. Lost my Moms four years ago and it still hurts.
But I'm enjoying this and I'm willing to roll with it.
Sums things up for me.. :D I can still bring FACTS to the Factless, but I do it in such a way that it's amiable and respectful of other's feelings..

Yeah, me too. MCspaining Ukraine is proof read ready and I've been working on that shooting incident video reply that I promised you.
Again, I'll trust you agree that we have both graduated to a higher level in each other's eyes...
He doesn't suck as bad as before :D
Totally correct -- no Western aid and this war would be long over with.
But most of that aid came post invasion. First, the Ukrainians had to fight them to a standstill, which they did and continue to do.
If you just added the Polish Air Force to Ukraine’s the no-fly zone would be a done deal. That's how bad the Russian military is performing.
[137]
I've put a lot a research hours into it and it's going to be good.
Will you be around later today or should I post it for your morning review right before I crash?

OOoooo a MUPE!!!!! That's a low cut! hehehehe :D
Although Shaq is a cop so he is head and shoulders above Odumbo...
And Democrats lose again!!! :D
Federal court dismisses challenges to Texas abortion law’s private enforcement provision
The law outlaws abortions once medical professionals can detect a fetal heartbeat, usually around six weeks into a pregnancy and before many women know they are pregnant.

How many more losses can the Democrat Party handle before it implodes???

And, for you mathematics buffs Math's Fundamental Flaw. (34 mind blowing minutes)
There is a hole at the bottom of math. A hole that means that we will never know everything with certainty.
There will always be true statements which cannot be proven.

So you're saying you're gullible? Heh. Just kidding. :)
Qui mentirait dans un forum politique juste pour marquer des points ..
Easy answer: Donald Trump.

Super secret? Heh. I think you meant "Top Secret."

Not factually accurate.. You apparently are not up on current events.. John Durham has proven that all the Russia Collusion was nothing but fabrications..
Heh. Nope.
Are you going to watch the Sussmann trial next month???
The Sussman trial is a 1-count false statement trial that John Durham and right-wing propaganda media are trying to misrepresent as a conspiracy that implicates Hillary Clinton, Christopher Steele, et alia.
It would not surprise me if Durham and his shoddy team sought a delay in the trial due to recent rulings. We shall see.
Being kind to Kick does have an added bonus as it makes me feel real good about my part in bringing peace to Weigantia..
This "Kick" sounds as wonderful as apple pie. Where can I get a piece of that? :)

A fair representation of what I "said."
I told her of course I would believe her.. What kind of idiot would LIE in a political forum just to score points..
Except you did not actually use the term "idiot," which in French would actually translate to "imbécile" or actually "idiot," which looks the same when written yet sounds totally different when spoken.
I also told her that having worked military areas in France and Israel and such, I understand the demands of a super secret classified mission et al..

Which is EXACTLY what Democrats who control FaceBook and Twitter did...
Why in the world do you suppose Rudy Giuliani didn't run straight to Fox News with his trove of emails?
Trick question. Of course, Rudy did exactly that; why wouldn't he? Fox News also passed on the story at that time due to the lack of authentication of Hunter's alleged laptop combined with Rudy asking for immediate coverage of the unvetted documents. So Rudy ventured over to Rupert Murdoch's other right-wing propaganda property where the reporter who largely wrote it, Bruce Golding, refused to put his name on the report because he doubted its credibility. The reporter whose name was eventually affixed to the story found out only after it was published.
Only after it was published by Murdoch's rag (Hamilton would roll over in his grave) the opinion shows on Fox then began covering the story and, of course, used the Post’s reporting as a shield and blamed the rest of the media for not covering the same story on which they passed.
The Fox News top anchors known to cover "real news" versus the "Donald Trump is the son of Zeus and can do no wrong" propaganda had this to say about the story:
*
And remember who called the story “suspicious” and stated:
*
Remember that the CIA under the Trump administration had already warned the public to be aware of election disinformation:
https://www.dni.gov/index.php/newsroom/press-releases/item/2139-statement-by-ncsc-director-william-evanina-election-threat-update-for-the-american-public
They banned a candidate and banned facts about the Democrat candidate that would have lost the election for Democrats..
Not impossible but highly unlikely... considering:
(1) history of foreign interference
(2) the veracity of the source
(3) the story breaking after hundreds of millions had already voted
(4) Hunter Biden not being on a single ballot in a single state or the District of Columbia.
I mean, would your vote have changed if the exact same story (or worse) had been written except the names involved were Donald J. Trump, Jr. and implicated Donald Trump?
Not bloody likely... and you know it. :)
Michale

Toe-MAY-Toe
Speaking of which, I doubt you will learn of this in right-wing propaganda media, so I will do you "a solid" and tell you now:
Donald Trump (not Junior) testified regarding his fear of being hit with "toe-may-toes" and other fruit.
I can't stop laughing. The things we learn under penalty of perjury. Turns out, I'm growing projectile produce right now. Full confession:
I never thought of them as weaponry, but I am a good aim.
