Loudly Proclaim A Very Big Deal
OK, I can't resist, so let's start off with: "Hear ye, hear ye! President Joe Biden has successfully gotten rid of an outdated and unnecessary rule, which will save millions of people thousands of dollars each." How's that for some good news to start the week? From now on, anyone will be able to walk into a drug store and buy a hearing aid over the counter. No doctor's appointment or prescription will be required.
This was an outdated rule that was no longer necessary. It added enormous costs (both in money and in time and effort) to the process of improving one's hearing. Perhaps back when the devices were analog and not very advanced, there was a reason for a professional to adjust and care for hearing aids, but these days the technology is a lot better and a lot cheaper. So there was no real need for the rule to continue, for most of the people who are hard of hearing. An off-the-shelf hearing aid is really all that most people will ever need. And now they'll be able to buy one for as little as perhaps $200 (the first company to announce a new product is going to sell it for $799, but there will be a lot of competition for this market very soon). The Food and Drug Administration estimates that this will save people an average of $3,000 -- which is a big savings, obviously. Some models of hearing aid sell for as much as $5,500 (or even more with added audiological services, which I am tempted to call "bells and whistles" for obvious reasons...). But now they'll all be subject to the power of the marketplace and they'll have to compete against each other on price. That is a big difference and it should be celebrated.
Full disclosure: I personally have not (yet) needed a hearing aid in my life, but it's entirely possible that I will at some point. This is the result of blasting a lot of loud rock music over headphones at an early age, and I will pay the price for this youthful exuberance for the rest of my life. So while not yet a customer, the subject still interests me.
When (or hopefully "if") I get to that stage, I am going to appreciate the fact that I don't have to get a prescription for a basic electronic device. Up until a few politicians pointed it out (in an effort to get the rule overturned) a few years back, I had no idea that prescriptions actually were necessary for hearing aids. It was rather surprising to learn, since the obvious reaction is: "Why?" But now it is not necessary anymore, which is a rare instance of politicians bringing some sanity to federal regulations.
Basic health aids should not require a visit to a doctor. If a person needs reading glasses, they do have the option of seeing an eye doctor and getting a perfect prescription, but they also have the option of just trying some generic off-the-shelf reading glasses in a drug store, and buying the ones that work "close enough" to perfect for them. These are priced incredibly cheaply, as opposed to the hundreds of dollars you'd likely spend getting prescription frames and lenses. Both options exist, and nobody is forced to use the expensive route if they don't want to or feel they need to.
Now hearing aids will be available in a similar way. People will be able to go down to their local drug store or big-box store, find out which one works adequately enough for them, and buy it for a fraction of what they'd have to pay in a doctor's office. And since most health insurance plans don't actually cover hearing (the same bizarre way they don't cover eyes or teeth), the difference in price used to come directly out of patients' pockets. This is a big change, in other words.
This change has been a long time coming, but it was Joe Biden who got it over the finish line:
The final rule is a victory for President Joe Biden's administration, which pushed the FDA to finalize the rule as part of its efforts to renew antitrust enforcement.
"Right now, if you need a hearing aid, you can't just walk into a pharmacy and pick one up over the counter," Biden said when unveiling an executive order on antitrust enforcement in July 2021 that includes instructions to finalize the rule. "You have to get it from a doctor or a specialist. Not only does that make getting hearing aids inconvenient, it makes them considerably more expensive, and it makes it harder for new companies to compete, innovate, and sell hearing aids at lower prices."
It's also a win for Sens. Elizabeth Warren (D-Mass.) and Chuck Grassley (R-Iowa), who wrote the original 2017 legislation ordering the FDA to allow over-the-counter sales. While former President Donald Trump signed their bill into law, his administration never finalized the process.
Democrats should tout this as a big political success while campaigning. It's one of those things that only impacts a limited amount of people (there are an estimated 30 million Americans with hearing issues, but only a fraction of them get hearing aids, at least up until now), but for those people the impact will be an enormous help. Instead of paying the price of a half-decent used car to get hearing aids, people can now buy them for only a few hundred dollars -- a huge bargain! The issue is also fairly tailor-made for politics, since the biggest group of people affected (seniors) is also the demographic that votes at a very high rate. And it's pretty easy to make this point (as loudly as necessary):

No doctors' appointment, no prescription, no hassle. And this is going to save people thousands of dollars of unnecessary cost. Anyone who doesn't think this is a big deal should ask one of the millions of Americans who could use a hearing aid -- they'll tell you what a big deal this is! Democrats are working hard to bring down medical care costs in all sorts of ways, and I'd like to thank Joe Biden for achieving this one."

As the father of two hearing impaired small children, i can see another benefit: people who really do need audiological services should find it significantly easier to get an appointment. At the moment it takes months to schedule an audiologist.

Once upon a time in American politics, the Democratic Party enjoyed the overwhelming support of the Black community. Left-leaning candidates routinely won over 90 percent of the Black vote.
The times, they are a-changing.
African Americans are becoming increasingly disillusioned with the Democratic Party, and this is no longer just something you hear in the barber shop or church pews. It's showing up in the polls—in a significant way.
A recent Washington Post/ABC News poll revealed that while African Americans still support Democrats by clear margins, the percentages have declined significantly. When asked which party they intended to support in the upcoming congressional elections, 79 percent chose Democrats, while 18 percent indicated they would vote for a Republican candidate.

The Democratic Party's subversion of male responsibility and authority within the home has made it increasingly antagonistic toward men and the traditional family structure. President Obama was routinely criticized by his liberal Black base whenever he promoted marriage and fatherhood in speeches to Black audiences. And since then, those progressive critics have become the official voice of the party: The 2020 Democratic party platform did not contain a single reference to the importance of marriage and the nuclear family.

NBC's Dasha Burns explains the special measures she had to use to interview Democratic Pennsylvania Senate candidate John Fetterman, who is still recovering from a stroke earlier this year.
"We had a monitor set up so he could read my questions because he still has lingering auditory processing issues as a result of the stroke, which means he has a hard time understanding what he's hearing," Burns explained. "Before the closed captioning was up and running, it did seem that he had a hard time understanding our conversations and I'll just let you take a listen to some of what we talked about here."

Brace Yourself for a Republican Wave
As voters shift their attention to the economy and crime, polls begin to hint at a major GOP advantage.
The Republican Party is on the cusp of a substantial midterm election victory that could rival their wins in 1994 and 2010.
There has been a 3-point swing to Republicans in generic-ballot polling in just the last month, according to the RealClearPolitics average. Democrats led by as much as 1.3 points in September, but as of Monday, Republicans were up by 1.8.
A late September ABC News/Washington Post poll found the Republican advantage concentrated where it’s needed most. The GOP had a 5-point lead among likely voters nationwide, but a 21-point margin in “competitive” congressional districts. Other battleground-district polls, from CBS News, Economist/YouGov and CNN, showed the GOP with a much narrower lead, but a consistent one.
What does that mean for seats? The House’s current breakdown is 220-212 in favor of the Democrats, with three vacant seats. A majority of a full House is 218. As of Sunday, RealClearPolitics rates 221 seats as leaning, likely or securely Republican, to 176 for the Democrats. The other 38 seats are toss-ups.
If there are no upsets on either side and the toss-ups are evenly split, that brings Republicans to a 240-195 majority—a gain of 28 seats. A Republican sweep of the toss-up races would expand the majority to 259-176. That’s vanishingly unlikely, but so is a Democratic sweep of the toss-ups—which would still leave the GOP with a seven-seat majority.

Only problem is that I never made any such claim. So now he claims he was justified in threatening to report my husband, as long as you accept his lies as what happened. It's strange that for the last two years when I brought this up, Michael never made these claims to defend himself. It's as if he just thought them up...
The saddest part of this has been Michael's inflated ego thinking that anyone would risk their career over him! You claim you were an MP who (against policy) didn't wait for back up before entering the home where a physical domestic was taking place. For example, since 1946 every president in his first midterm election who has less than a 50 percent approval rating loses 37 seats on average in the House.
Grandpa Dementia, who just got bent over by Mohammed bin Salman and the Saudis after begging for more oil production, who wanders aimlessly—sometimes literally—from defeat to defeat, is not even close to the 50 percent margin. He hovers around 40-41 percent on his better days. I don’t know exactly what an approval rating around 40 percent means for House losses, but I can assure you it’s north of 37 seats.
Democrats have attempted to say that abortion is going to be a highly motivating factor, but the latest Monmouth poll has it ranked as the seventh issue on people’s minds going into the election. It’s certainly not the deal-breaker the Left seems to think it is. Sure, you’ll get the worshippers of Moloch fired up in the deep blue areas, as they shriek, “Let’s go kill some babies!” But apparently, and try not to be terribly shocked, people are far more concerned by the lack of money in their pockets than they are with the right to butcher babies up until the moment of birth. As abortion has faded as an even a semi-motivating issue over the past month, the real issues on people’s minds are inflation, crime, election integrity, unemployment, immigration and infrastructure.
In short, the issues that are a direct result of Joe Biden and the Democrats’ infantile, intentional, and disastrous policies.
Let's take stock of what's important to American voters in the coming election..
INFLATION... Yep... The facts PROVE beyond ANY doubt that Americans want the GOP to lead to fix inflation..
CRIME... Yep Again, everyday Americans prefer the GOP over Demonrats to take care of violent criminals..
ELECTION INTEGRITY... Again, voters want the GOP on that issue..
IMMIGRATION... And AGAIN... Voters want the GOP in charge..

As we watch the economy and markets crash, CNN shared Gallup’s poll asking, “Who do you think is best equipped to confront the issues we have today?” Republicans had an 11-point advantage, which for those wondering, is the biggest lead they’ve had on that question in about 80 years.
Just like I said above.. Americans want the GOP in charge because Americans have realize how badly Democrats have scroo'ed things up..
And ta think... GOP has an ELEVEN POINT advantage on that question!!! The LARGEST lead in almost a CENTURY!!!

It’s now a 56 point advantage for Republicans. For those who still learned math before it became racist, that’s an over 60 point swing in less than two years. Which ties in to other big shifts that have happened since 2020. And just last year, Virginia had a 12 point swing towards Republicans. It’s safe to say things have not gotten better for Puddin’ Brains and his posse of idiots over the past two years.
In 2020, Demonrats had a 9 POINT lead advantage amongst hispanic voters in who would be best to meet the needs of securing the southern board...
Fast forward to today???
The GOP has a **56** point lead amongst hispanic voters..

So if Republicans push hard down the homestretch I have every reason to believe that our low end gains in the House will be in the high 30s, though it’s likely up to the 40s or even 50s. I’m hard pressed to believe we won’t have a 52-48 split in the Senate though I think we can get to 54-46. In gubernatorial races we will likely end up with around a 30-20 advantage, though 32-18 is possible, and of course we’ll pick up seats in state legislatures and make drastic changes at the school board level.

I've brought up this incident of Michael threatening to file a false police report against my husband many times over the last two years when Michael makes sweeping comments on how Democrats hate the police and do not respect the police.

For some reason this time, he has chosen to say that I claimed that I had Devon run him through NCIC and that is where I learned of his criminal past which would have made it impossible for him to have been in law enforcement for 25 years.

You can keep posting your revisionist history bullshit on permanent loop, but it doesn't change the fact that the vast majority of background checks are not NCIC background checks, and it isn't illegal for a police officer to perform a background check.
