    And it's oh so true...

Ironically enough, I see it as a slam against the current KINGS of Scandal, the Democrats... Throwing all sorts of imaginable and unimaginable kaa-kaa against the wall, hoping something will stick...

From Attorney Firings (also a Clinton/Democrats non-scandal) to a Pardon Scandal (also a Clinton/Democrats non-scandal) the Democrats have learned the lesson well from the GOP CounterParts and are using the GOP playbook to a T.

Again, I refer back the old Klingon proverb..

Damn smart, them Klingons, eh?? :D

While I admit you are right that the Democrats seem to be going after Bush with everything they've got, you have to at least put it into some sort of perspective. The Democratic Congress has subpoenaed the Bush White House a few dozen times to date.

The Republican Congress sent Bill Clinton over A THOUSAND subpoenas in their time.

So while you can argue that it's wrong for Congress to do so, you just can't argue who the kings of "throwing things at the wall to see what sticks" are. The numbers show how unbalanced it has been in recent years.

I will concede the point, only because the GOP had 8 years to subpoena, whereas the Democrats have only had 7 months.. I am sure that, if the Dems manage to hold onto Congress beyond the 2008 or 2010 elections (something I doubt) and there is a GOP in the White House still (something I expect) then I am certain that the Dems will not only approach the GOP numbers but will surpass them..

Also, I am constrained to point out that we were not at war during the Clinton years, but we are now. Therefore, we should not be fighting amongst ourselves so vehemently, while the house is burning down around us.

Thanks, I knew I'd come up with something you liked eventually. It's interesting to me that if you can see a way to spin my cartoons to be anti-Democrat, you like them, otherwise you find them ad hominem and partisan. There's a cartoon in there somewhere.

Strange analogy, throwing things at the wall to see what sticks.

After spending years trying to stick anything they could on Clinton, the only thing they could find was a technicality over something Clinton himself stuck on a blue dress. I'll bet ol' Bill wishes he'd stuck that on the wall instead.

Meanwhile, our current scandal fatigue seems to be based on the Democrats asking, "What's all this stuff stuck on the walls?", and the Republicans (those that aren't pleading the fifth) are saying, "I didn't do it. I wonder how it got there."

In other words, in your opinion, ALL the Democrats are as pure as the driven snow and ALL the Republicans are the Devil incarnate, eh??

You see what I mean about you being blinded by partisanship?? You cannot even concede the possibility that sometimes the Democrats can do bad things and sometimes the GOP can do good things...

Two things are very clear to me, Michale.

Only one of us is qualified to voice my opinions.

Only one of us is blinded by partisanship.

I won't waste your time with solutions to those riddles, you wouldn't believe the answers.

Actually, I am about as non-partisan as they come. The only reason it APPEARS that I am not is because all of our discussions here seem to center on two issues. Corruption and Iraq...

With regards to Corruption, I only appear to be a Republican because the one thing I almost hate more than corruption is hypocrisy. And it is hypocrisy in the extreme for those on the Left to point to the Right and scream "CORRUPTION!!"...

So, I point out the hypocrisy on the Left, never once ignoring the fact that the Right is equally hypocritical..

With regards to the Iraq issue specifically (and the war on terror in general) this is probably the only issue that I agree with the Right and the GOP. This is probably due to my military and civilian background and experiences.. I have seen first hand what is happening out there in the real world. The world that is nothing but theory and TV/WEB images to the rest of you..

Now, you want to discuss other issues, you will find me shoulder to shoulder with you..

You want to discuss gay marriage?? I am completely for gay marriage. I feel that two people loving each other and wanting to spend the rest of their lives together should be the ONLY requirement for getting married. My wife and I celebrated our Silver Wedding anniversary last March, so I am a FIRM believer in the concept of marriage and would like to see EVERYONE experience it. Now, that is not to say that I am for special rights for gays and lesbians. I do believe that being gay is a lifestyle choice and is not in the genes... My lovely wife is bi-sexual.. Was she born that way?? Of course not. It's her choice to be that way...
    EQUAL RIGHTS, not SPECIAL RIGHTS...

    Moving on....

How about god and religion?? Personally, I think the bible is a rather boring fantasy novel. Star Trek has had more impact on my life than the bible. I feel that orgainized religion is a crutch for people who can't handle reality. Like drugs, religion allows people to delude themselves into thinking that everything bad happening is really not their fault.. In essence, religion (again, like drugs) allows people to escape reality.

Terry Schiavo?? The worst case of government abuse I have seen. The government had NO RIGHT to try and intrude in such a personal family tragedy.

Human Caused Global Warming.. Now THIS is a topic you really don't want to get me going on.. :D I used to have to count this political fantasy as another point I agreed with the Bush Administration on.. But then Bush went all soft and caved in to the Eco Terrorists, so we (Bush and I) parted ways on this issue as well. Suffice it to say that HCGW is a joke. It's a political money-making venture that has actually PREVENTED Al Gore from running for President, so I guess that something GOOD is coming from it. But HCGW is no more a threat than the coming apocalypse that is predicted in the bible is a threat. (Like how I tied those two issues together?? Pretty nifty, if you ask me.. :D)

Like being religiously agnostic, I am also politically agnostic.. I am neither beholden nor enslaved by any Party or it's Dogma..

Finally, let me just close by saying that, when I said I liked this particular cartoon, it was because, artistically, it was better than your others.... Not because of it's content or the fact that I can see how it can apply for OR against the Democrats or the Republicans equally.

It's like the CHOOSE LIFE license plates we have here in Florida..

Most would see those plates and say, "Look. Another ANTI ABORTION/ANTI CHOICE" message"...

I look at it and see it as a **PRO** CHOICE message, as it is advocating that abortion IS a choice.. It simply advocates to choose life over an abortion..

    Boy, I really rambled on here, didn't I.. :D

Well, there you have it.. Michale in a nutshell..

Now, I challenge you to read all of the afore and then try and claim that I am just some Right wing nut who marches goose step with whatever tune the Right and/or Bush sets..

I am my own person and think what I think, not what I am told to think...

It's a shame that there can't be more LIKE me.. Our political landscape would not be so whacked if there were, eh???

    >There's a cartoon in there somewhere.

If you do do a cartoon, please insure you get my good side... This should help.. :D

Ya know, it just finally crystallized in my mind how really fracked up our election process is..

Look at it.. Dem and GOP candidates spend a year tearing down their own party's candidates. In effect, they are determining the strategy for the opposing party in the general election..

In essence, the Candidates are WEAKENING their own party by giving ammunition against the eventual candidate to the opposing party...

    Now, how whacked is that???

I realize this is probably a "NO DUH" moment, but it just clicked in my brain this morning how truly and utterly illogical our election process is...
